24 Hours In London (Associated Rediffusion 1956)

A live variety special presenting a musical tour of the capital city over the course of a single day.

This one-off programme was constructed as a live musical revue, built around the theme of a day in the life of London. It was an ambitious outside broadcast for its time, with a production team that signalled a certain level of prestige. Music was directed by the prominent bandleader Woolf Philips, while the choreography was overseen by Anton Dolin, a celebrated dancer and co-founder of the London Festival Ballet. The television presentation was directed by Milo Lewis for Avalon Films Ltd, an independent producer supplying content to the fledgling ITV network.
