A Welsh-language children’s serial, now missing from the BBC archives.
Information on this six-part serial is scarce. The story featured a regular cast of three: David Lyn as a character known as Y Dewin (The Wizard), Sharon Morgan as Hannah Meri, and Margaret Esli as Marged. Beyond these credits, the precise narrative of their adventures is not known to us at this time.
A footnote in the history of BBC Wales’s contributions to children’s television, this short serial is now impossible to evaluate on its own merits. The master tapes for all six episodes were wiped, a fate common to much regional and children’s programming of the era. Its complete absence from the archives renders it a piece of lost television, remembered only by its original young audience. Consequently, its place in the canon of Welsh-language broadcasting remains defined by its archival status, if anyone does have any additional information about the series we would love to include it.
