A husband and wife visit a remote house they have recently inherited in a final attempt to mend their marriage. Their relationship is fragile, having been damaged by the death of their son and the wife’s subsequent mental health crisis. Trapped in the house by a severe blizzard and without electricity, the wife begins to hear strange laughter and other noises that her husband cannot, forcing them both to confront whether her sanity is failing or if a supernatural force is present.

A high-quality entry in the long-running anthology series. The production is notable for the direction of Piers Haggard, who uses lighting and composition with artistic flair to create an unsettling atmosphere that complements the script’s psychological tension. The drama is anchored by the controlled and convincing central performances of Ann Lynn and Nigel Stock as a couple under immense emotional strain.
